I have been slogging my way through a string of bad books written by some of the authors I love and count on for really good reads. This is one more to add to the list.I am a fan of the 'boss' trope. But I didn't like this. I didn't like the H. I really didn't like the the h. She was a uptight, short-sighted, self-absorbed, self-righteous prig. And she was not nice. Strong women don't 'own the room' by behaving like a tyrant. The best potential for conflict was eliminated early when the H's father informed him what he had asked the h to do, thereby necessitating a contrived set-up. The whole thing was just ugh.It don't like writing this kind of review. Then again, I didn't like this book. I will keep reading Katy Evans' books hoping she returns to the kind of writing I have enjoyed.
A steamy office romance that will bring the HEAT!Alexandra has been with the company for years. It was her first job out of college and she busted her butt to get where she is now. She is pretty much all work and no play. Her boss Alistair, asks her to keep on eye on his son Kit, as he has just been appointed as the new boss. She needs to help him get acquainted with the business and report back to Alistair on whether or not he is fit to take over.Kit is gorgeous, has a reputation with the ladies and a British accent. Enough said. He's also Alex's new boss. He has everything to prove because up until now he's just been the black sheep in his family. Traveling, women and fun! However, now he's ready to prove his worth.Kit and Alexandra have an instant and intense connection. That boss/employee line is about to be obliterated and straight laced Alexandra doesn't want to stop it because it's just too good! Unfortunately everything comes with a price.Great characters and a sexy story! I enjoy a HOT office romance and this delivered.

Her boss has unending respect and confidence in her but when he says he’s announcing his retirement everything she knows about her job is about to change.Kit Walker is the ultimate party guy, Ladies man and everything that’s not right for Cupid’s Arrow but when your Father owns the company and wants him to follow in his footsteps can he do it or will there be obstacles in his way especially when her name is Alexandra Croft.The chemistry from the first time there eyes meet is combustible but the tension over work is even hotter. You will see how they work and play nice together and you will see all the obstacles they will have to overcome but in the end you can’t help cheer them on and hope that they can find a HEA after it all.
First off, let me just say that I'm a huge fan of Harlequin books. Sometimes I crave a short insta-love story and HQN never lets me down.With that being said, when I saw Katy Evans was writing a HQN book I was super excited. Ms. Evans is one of my favorite authors and her books are an automatic buy for me.I thoroughly enjoyed Boss. Although I immediately fell for Kit (except for a bit near the end when I wanted to smack some sense into him and Alastair), I had a hard time warming up to Alexandra. But when everything went down, my heart broke for her because she was the one on the outside looking in. But I definitely enjoyed the way they challenged each other and of course their chemistry was off the charts. Ms. Evans has a knack for writing deep and emotional connections between her characters, and even though this was a short book, I still felt the pull between Kit and Alex.
Boss is an amazing steamy quick read. I couldn't put this one down. I love the heat that left me fanning myself. The insta-lust between Kit and Alexandra is felt from the very beginning. This is one steamy office romance. You feel the hate and the heat as Kit and Alexandra go head to head in the office. The sparks fly once they decide to become friends. I love the changes in Kit as the story line goes on. Alexandra is feisty and fiery. She is dedicated to her job. Kit comes off as a playboy who doesn't want to grow up. But boy is he filled with surprises. The chemistry throughout Boss between Alexandra and Kit just grows hotter as the book goes on. This is fantastic read. I couldn't put this one down and love what Katy Evans gives us in Boss.
I’m not even sure where to start on this book. It’s the first one I’ve read by Katy Evans and definitely won’t be the last. I really enjoyed reading Boss and can’t wait to read William’s story. I really loved the characters, especially the connection between Alex and Kit. They were hot and juicy and I loved it. I did wish there was more of Ellie, in fact she’d be cute with William or maybe even have her own story. This book will have you swooning from beginning to end and leave you wanting so much more. Definitely recommend this for your 2019 read. You won’t be disappointed.
This was a great read, I couldn’t put it down! The alpha male, Kit, is delicious. Alex holds her own and I enjoyed her character. The story line was enjoyable but somewhat predictable. Like a Harlequin romance usually is. Katy is my favorite author by far, so I am perplexed as to why she’s going down this road. I hope her other non Harlequin books showcase her real talent. I’m all for growth as a writer but this feels like a step back to me. My undying love for Malcom Saint & Rachel Livingston (Manwhore series) might make me jaded;)
Katy Evans has done it again! Boss was amazing! I haven’t read a Harlequin book in years! I was intrigued because it was written by Katy..,but boy I’m telling you this is an AMAZING read! It gives the vibes. Alexandra Croft And Kit Walker WOW! Two people that have a lot to prove. Two people that you are cheering on. I saw them together even before they did. I so wanted more. Katy delivered BIG TIME! So worthy and wonderful too.
