this is my own fault, I didn't read the publishing date before purchasing. It is old enough that it really isn't worth buying. Too much has changed since it was published. Internet reference books need to be current to be truly useful.

I have bought many of the Knopf Map Guides for cities I have visited, and can only say "don't leave home without it". If you plan on doing a city on foot, these Knopf Map Guides are the thing to have. They are small therefore easy to carry and handle, the streets and maps are large enough that it makes finding your way very easy in each city, and the recommendations are very good so it makes it easy to plan your day. They only recommend the best places, and they are rated, so you won't miss out on the best museums, the best highlights, the best dining, coffee places, historical places, hang outs, etc. They make the most of your time. Thumbs UP!

These are the BEST. They are super lightweight and fit easily into a purse, ready to be plucked out when you are looking for direction in the midst of aimlessly wandering a foreign city! They are often older so the restaurant info and/pricing may not be up-to-date, but I am personally not concerned about that. My only wish is that they had them for more cities!

I've used several of the Knopf Mapguides and appreciate their unique organizational style and overlapping district maps. They make it easy to get around a city and the information is just right for a few days' stay. If you need a lot of specific information and alternatives you'll need a more thorough guide book; the Mapguides are great for the highlights.That being said, the Hong Kong Mapguide is skimpier than those for other cities. It's still useful, just very basic.

I love these maps and try to buy one whenever I travel. The sectioned areas of a city are so helpful in the travel planning process. It makes it so easy to focus on an area - love the detailed information.
